Melanie Einzig is a photographer based in New York. With a background in art and photojournalism she brings a love of aesthetics, an interest in people and the ability to identify the key dramatic moments of any kind of event. She works very quietly and unobtrusively in order to record the most genuine moments in a natural way. Whether for her personal work, a publication, for an institution, or at a private event, Melanie brings her full attention (eye and heart) to making the best possible photos. Along with the events of everyday life, she loves to cover exhibition openings, galas,  performances, intimate family gatherings and bar/bat mitzvahs.

Her pictures have been printed in books about photography, in many national and international publications as well as in annual reports and newsletters for institutions and organizations. Here are some recent samples.

Her personal work has been exhibited internationally and selected photos are part of the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, SF Moma’s e-space as part of the Blue Dot (one of the first art sites on the web), the Museum of the City of New York, the Brooklyn Historical Society, the Incite Project, and other private collections. She received the Aaron Siskind Foundation fellowship for her work titled Midtown displayed at Zone Zero. Midtown displayed at Zone Zero.
